There must be some logic to why titles of movies are often unnecessarily (in my opinion) translated, but this one in particular has always baffled me. Why wouldn’t Annie Hall translate? Sure, “The City-Neurotic” is a more accurate description of the film, but would German-speaking audiences be less likely to see it if the name weren’t changed? Again, you can put this in the category of, “Things I don’t ever expect to fully understand.”
